  • ginger root – 1 piece of about 2 inches
  • Honey – it is optional
  • a sharp knife
  • water – 2 to 3 cups
  • wax paper
  • a cutting board

  • Wash the ginger root.Peel the root.Slice this root into small pieces.
  • Cover these pieces with wax paper. Crush these pieces.
  • Boil 2 -3 cups of water and these crushed pieces in it. Let it boil for 3-5 minutes.
  • Remove the mixture from heat and strain if you like to.
  • Pour the mixture into the mug. Add honey to this if you like.Sip it slowly and relaxes.

b. Ginger Ale

Ingredients You Need
  • roughly chopped ginger – 2 cups
  • lemon peel – 3 to 4 strips
  • chilled club soda – 3 quarts
  • ice cubes
  • 1 cup sugar
Procedure To Be Followed
  • Place two cups of chopped ginger in a saucepan.Add lemon peel and 4 cups of water to it.
  • Boil it over high heat.Then let it sit on active simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Add sugar to it as much you prefer.Continue to boil this mixture for about 15 minutes.
  • It will almost reduce to 3 cups.Separate solid part from liquid part.
  • Chill this syrup for about sevenMix 1/4 cup syrup with 1 cup soda.Pour ice to it and consume.

2. Yummy Lemon

Lemon reduces morning sickness problem as it possesses normal calming effect. There are the various ways in which lemons can be consumed which are the following.

a. Lemon

Take a lemon.Cut it into two pieces.Just taste it and see the effect.

b. Lemon Candy

Procedure To Be Followed
  • Just buy the lemon candies which are easily available in the market.Chew them.

c. Lemon Candles

Ingredients You Need
  • lemon candles

  • Buy lemon candles from the market.Light these candles at places where you spent most of your time.
  • Breathe in that refreshing aroma.

d. Water With Lemon

Ingredients You Need
  • lemon
  • One glass of water

  • Take a glass of water.Squeeze one lemon in this water.
  • Take this lemon water every day in the morning.This will give you relief from nausea.

e. Mint With Lemon

Ingredients You Need
  • lemon juice
  • mint juice
  • honey or sugar
Procedure To Be Followed
  • Mix one teaspoon each of lemon juice and mint juice.Add honey or sugar whatever desired.
  • Drink this mixture three times a day.You will observe the relief.

f. Lemon Essential Oil

Ingredients You Need
  • lemon essential oil
  • a handkerchief
Procedure To Be Followed
  • Put lemon essential oil over your handkerchief.
  • Smell it from time to time when you feel disturbed.

3. Fennel Seeds

Fennel seeds have the property to calm your stomach, and these seeds help in digestion. These seeds also possess anesthetic properties which are helpful in treating nausea.

There are two ways to consume these seeds.

  • fennel seeds – crushed
  • cup of water
  • lemon juice
  • honey – 1 teaspoon

  • Boil 1 tablespoon of crushed fennel seeds in a cup of water for almost 10 minutes.
  • Add lemon juice and one teaspoon of honey.Drink this daily.

4. Curry Leaves

  • curry leaves
  • lime juice – 2 teaspoons
  • honey – 1 teaspoon

  • Press the curry leaves to extract the juice from them.
  • Add two teaspoons of lime juice and one teaspoon of honey to the juice of curry leaves.
  • Drink this mixture 2 to 3 times daily.

5. Peppermint

Peppermint also anesthetic properties so it helps to calm the stomach and in the treatment of the problem of morning sickness.There are various ways to consume peppermint like candies, essential oil, etc.

a. Peppermint Mix

  • peppermint leaves – 1 tablespoon
  • a cup of water
  • honey or sugar

  • Add one tablespoon of peppermint leaves in a cup of water and boil the mixture for 15-20 minutes.

6. Fruit Of Bael

Bael fruit helps in the treatment of morning sickness by providing proper digestion.

  • bael fruit
  • cooked rice

  • Extract juice from the fruit.
  • Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of this extracted juice to cooked rice.
  • Eat this rice 2 to 3 times daily.

7. Potato Chips

Potato chips reduce the production of saliva if saliva is producing in your body in excess.Eat salted potato chips for the treatment of morning sickness.

NOTE: Don’t consume these potato chips in excess.

8. Lot Of Water

Lack of the content of water in your body also leads to the feeling of morning sickness so you must drink  9 to 10 glasses of water daily during the time of pregnancy and you can also take water enriched fruits like:

  • Watermelon
  • Melon
  • Orange
  • Grapes

9. Cheesy Cheese

Cheese is also very helpful for the treatment of the problem of morning sickness. So, you should consume cheese. You can take cottage cheese or mozzarella cheese.

Take dark chocolate which has the cocoa content of 70% or higher. Dark chocolate containing this much of cocoa content is very healthy.

During pregnancy, most of the women face the problem of constipation and fruits, and green vegetables are best when you are suffering from constipation.This is because fruits and vegetables contain this special type of fibre Xylooligosaccharides. This fibre helps material in the body keep moving.

21. Speak Up

Don’t be a person who doesn’t share your feelings with other as pregnancy time is said to be a very emotional time. So, try to share your feelings with your husbands and persons who live near you during your pregnancy.

They must know how small gestures and love and pampering of them can help you. They must know how you want to be treated at what particular time. This can greatly help you in your morning sickness as this morning sickness greatly depends on your mind.So, do share your feelings especially with your husbands.

22. Find Foods That Help You

Notice the foods that make you feel better and those foods which increase your irritation. Then try to avoid those foods which increase your irritation and take those foods which feel your better and repeatedly take those items.

Proper Diet That You Should Follow

If you plan your diet properly, then it will help you get rid of the regular feeling of nausea and morning sickness.

  • Add starchy foods in your diets like pasta, bread, and potatoes. These starchy foods contain carbohydrates in the complex form which can be easily digested.
  • Add protein-containing foods in your diet like cheese, nuts, and dairy products.
  • Don’t take spicy and fatty foods.
  • A big NO to alcohol and caffeine during pregnancy.
  • Eat small meals 5 to 6 times a day instead of 3 big meals. Big meals can disturb the digestion.

Food That Is To Be Avoided During Morning Sickness

Some food is needed to be avoided when you suffer from morning sickness. You must follow these to feel good during morning sickness.

Those food items are:

  • Try to avoid hot meals and take hot meals as hot food releases the smell of food which can irritate you.
  • Try to avoid those food items whose smell makes you sick.
  • Try to avoid all the liquid items that are cold or sweet.
  • Try to avoid spicy foods as much as you can.
  • Avoid caffeine as well.
  • Avoid fatty foods as much as you can.
  • Avoid the fast flickering on the screen of the computer monitor. Some women feel sickness due to this fast flickering so try to avoid monitor as much as possible and if you need to use then replace the wallpapers of the screen with light colours and make the front of the screen larger.

Reasons Behind Morning Sickness

There are not any such defined reasons of morning sickness. It is said that it occurs due to the hormonal changes at the period of pregnancy.

It normally occurs in 80% of women but reasons that are predicted which can be the cause of morning sickness are the following:

  • low blood sugar
  • The increment in the levels of  progesterone
  • The increment in the levels of estrogen

But at this time, you must not be interested in knowing all this. You must want to know how to get rid of this so called morning sickness.
