Kapha Pacifying Food

1. Fruits

Fruits that have an astringent and mild sweet fall under Kapha pacifying food. Dried fruits are not recommended, instead, prefer fresh mild sweet fruits.

Basically, for Kapha extremely sweet or sour foods are to be avoided. A few of them are bananas, cantaloupe, coconut, plums or pineapple.

Additionally, eat or drink any fruit juice typically one hour before or after your meal for optimal digestion. The fruit list of Kapha pacifying food is below:

The vegetables for Kapha pacifying food are pungent, astringent, and bitter in taste. Almost all the vegetables have a combination taste.

You should go for cooked vegetables instead of the raw ones as they are easy to digest. However, if you wish to have them raw have it during the lunchtime especially during the spring and summer season.

3. Grains

Dry, light and rough grains pacify the Kapha Dosha. Grains are the staple diet all over the world but are generally heavy so it is best to avoid them as far as possible.

The only thing is they should be well cooked and well spice to make them more digestible. Most of the legumes work for Kapha but the ones that are heavy and oily are not fit so you should avoid them.

The dairy products are to be taken in a small amount for a Kapha pacifying diet. It is because they are heavy and they increase the mucous production.

Additionally, don’t go for refined forms of sugars as they are not good for the overall health.

There is no spice that you should avoid in a Kapha pacifying diet. You can go with any spice in moderate quantities. And you can add them to your milk, drink, main course or salad.
