An ayurvedic daily routine is mindful and an act of self-love. Every day, we can give our body the chance to get a healthy well-being.
The cumulative effect of self-care is extremely powerful. A daily routine can make you fit in a short period of time.If you want to manage Pitta Kapha you should follow it.
Down below is a traditional Ayurvedic Pitta-Kapha daily routine. This is an ideal routine but, please don’t try to follow every practice the next morning.

1. Getting Up Early
The Ayurveda focuses a lot on getting up early. You should get up anytime between 3 am to 6 am. It is the Vata time of the day.
Nature is filled with lightness and clarity which will help you awaken more easily. This is the time when you can create a connection with the mother nature and with oneself.
However, if you are ill, elderly, children, or pregnant you can always get up a little later. Additionally, no matter what time you are getting up the key is to maintain a consistent waking time daily.
2. Passing Bowel
The ayurvedic culture gives a lot of importance to eliminating the bowel in the morning. Empty your bladder and bowel after you get up. It is actually an element of hygiene and health.
If you already have a habit of passing bowel early in the morning then good enough. But, if you don’t have this habit slowly and steadily you should adopt it.
You can adapt this habit by drinking a glass of water after you get up as it supports peristalsis.

3. Scraping Tongue

Take a steel tongue cleaner, scrape your tongue from the top of the throat to the tip of your tongue. Do it in 5-7 strokes, next rinse your mouth with water. Ayurveda recommends a steel tongue scraper over the fancy scrapers.
4. Brush Teeth
You must be already doing this daily, so it is nothing new to you. However, Ayurveda suggests using a neem toothpaste or any other herbal toothpaste which have an astringent, bitter, and pungent taste.

6. Oil Pulling And Massaging Gums
Swishing and gargling with warm coconut oil is another excellent oral hygiene practice. Oil pulling strengthens the teeth, jaw, gums, voice, and improve the sense of taste.
Take a mouthful of oil and swish it for good 2-3 minutes. If you find it appealing you can maximize the swishing process to as long as 15 minutes. Next, spit out all the oil.
After swishing, comes massaging your gums. Take the same oil pulling oil on your index finger and massage your gums slowly and gently for quite a few times.
It is very good for increasing the circulation in the mouth and if done daily can prevent any gum disease too.
7. Meditation Or Prayer
Meditating or praying is a routine aim at calming down your nervous system. It will keep you grounded for the day. You can meditate, pray, or simply sit quietly with your eyes closed.

8. Exercise
For Pitta and Kapha exercising is equally important. Moving your body tissues and organs in the morning is grounding, stabilizing, and energizing. It is again a natural detoxification process of your body. It will loosen your joint and awaken your body.
Exercising in the early morning is good for your Kapha Dosha. You can exercise anytime between 6 am to 10 am. However, if you don’t have time in the morning you can exercise anytime between 6 pm to 10 pm in the evening preferably before your dinner.
Ayurveda considers Yoga as the best form of exercise. The different forms of yoga are meant for different individuals. For the Pitta-Kapha body type Kapha pacifying yoga is more comforting.
Practice yoga in a relaxed slow manner, perform twists and folds and go for asanas that are soothing and slow. Shavasana is also good to balance Pitta.

9. Abhyanga

Ayurveda refers to it as self-love and self-care. Every morning before, taking a shower to take 1/4 cup of warm coconut oil, olive oil, sesame oil, or Kapha massage oil and massage your body with it. Massage in circular gentle strokes till the oil gets absorbed in your body.
10. Apply Oil To Ears, scalp, and foot
Ears are related to Vata Dosha. Greasing your ears with warm toasted oil can aid in healing, prevent stiffness in your neck, and lubricate the tissues nearby.
Take a dropper an pour 4-5 drops of oil in one ear, let it sit for a minute and then proceed to the other year. alternatively, you can also take your pinkie finger to apply oil. You can use sesame oil or coconut oil for the same.
Once you finish with the ears proceed to your scalp. Take coconut oil or olive oil and massage your scalp with it for good 5 minutes. This is a good practice that can prevent a headache, hair loss, hair greying, and aid in hair growth.
The last practice is applying oil to your foot especially the sole area. The foot is connected to various organs and tissues in the body and more of you are whole day on your foot. Massaging them can help to keep the overall health balanced.
11. Lubricate Your Nasal Passage
In an Ayurvedic daily routine cleaning, the nasal passages are very important. They not only prevent against, flu, cough, and cold but also give you a clear mind.
There are two main nasal cleaning practices. You cannot do them together but you have to do it on alternate days if you wish too.
The first practice is nasal rinse. Pour some warm salt water in your nasal passage to moisten the mucous membrane and clean it of any dirt, pollen, or excess mucus. Prefer applying oil or ghee with your pinkie finger in the inside of your nose to prevent any sort of dryness.
The second practice is nasya. In this, you have to put medicated oil inside the nasal passages to sooth the delicate tissues, relieve stress, promote mental clarity, and unobstructed breathing.
if you are pregnant or menstruating don’t perform this practice. For doing Nasya lie down on a bed and hang your head from the corner of the bed.
Your crown should be parallel to the floor. Once you are settled, put 3-5 drops of Nasya Oil into each nostril.
Snif the oil and massage your face, forehead, and scalp for the oil to move upward in your sinuses. Remain in the same position for five minutes and then slowly get up.
12. Massage Your Body With Dry Powder
This is not compulsory but if you wish too you can do it as it is equally good. Rub soft powder like rice flour or chickpea flour on your body.
This balances your Kapha, promotes blood circulation, keeps your skin healthy, liquifies fat, and strengthen your body tissues. This will also remove all the excess oil you applied to the body during abhyanga.
13. Bath
Bathing is another important part of the traditional Ayurvedic routine. It cleanses your body, gives your energy, and prepares you for the long day. While taking a bath prefer using a mild soap.
14. Vata-Kapha Breakfast

17. Adequate Rest
This is a bit tricky task for Pitta-Kapha body types. Rest is needed by them to rejuvenate your body. Listen to your body if you wake up fresh and energized that means your rest time was good enough.
But, if you wake up tired and sluggish, you can sleep for a few more hours. Often extended sleeping hours also bring tiredness so, it would be wise if you look at your lifestyle and give your body the required amount of stress.
18. Dinner
Your dinner should be as light as possible. It can be a smaller portion of your lunch too. A light meal will help you sleep better.
Your dinner time should be 2-3 hours before your bedtime. a light dinner also prevents overaccumulation of toxin in your body.
19. Bedtime
Bedtime is the best time to rejuvenate your body. As per Ayurveda, it is ideal to create a set of practices before bedtime so as to signal your body that the day is winding up. This will allow you to surrender yourself to sleep.
A bedtime routine should consist of brushing your teeth, applying oil to scalp, washing face, and eating Triphala.
Do all of them and then go to sleep. Wear loose clothes, clean your bedding, and maintain a proper ventilation for a better sleep.
Ayurveda disregards the habit of reading in . Reading stimulates the eyes and mind so it will certainly disturb your sleep.
